Less than 24 hours after the conclusion of Part 2 in the 2010 Oceania Contest, logs had already started to filter through to the Contest Manager, indicating at this very early stage in the judgement process that this will be the closest and most hotly competitive affair since its inauguration in 2007.

Just who will figure in the top three in this year’s event and claim some of the amazing prizes on offer, such as the ICOM 41S Handheld Portable Radio from Radio Warehouse and the NES-10 II noise limiting speaker by bhi, is anyone’s guess after contest operations continued to burgeon, particularly amongst Oceania based operators who were frenetically exchanging progressive numbers, right up until the contest’s closure at 12:00 GMT.

Even more tightly fought out, judging by some of the lofty numbers being bandied about on air and also by some of the rare OC DXCC and IOTA contact spots on Cluster.dk, will be the final 10 placings for 43 Division operators who are again in line for some terrific prizes donated by sponsor Syncro Australia.

And don’t forget……all Oceania DXers who submit logs also go into the draw for a Magnum S-9 transceiver thanks to Dave and Mike at Yeti Communications. With no minimum number of contacts required to qualify for this great prize, one would be crazy not to submit a log!

In accordance with Contest guidelines, the deadline for receipt of contest logs is March 1 2010. Final placings are announced on March 2 with prizes distributed by the Contest’s various sponsors immediately after.
