Apart from a position in the final three for the 2009 Oceania Contest in January, other station honours certain to come into reckoning during the coming months are various Oceania countries awards offered by a number of the world’s DX groups. The team at ‘11m DX Activities Oz’ have compiled this information about what’s available…

SD OC Countries Award

Designed by 13SD002 Dieter, this award is available to both members and non-members alike. In addition to a standard $5US or 5 EURO administration fee, photocopies of the cards (front and back) must also be supplied to the Awards Manager to verify contacts.

To be eligible for this terrific shack prize, you must have worked and confirmed a minimum of 10 different Oceanic divisions on the 11m band — an achievement many DXers, particularly those based in 43 Division, may have already attained.

According to the award guidelines, there is no time limit for the contacts to be made; however, all contacts must be confirmed by a recognised QSL card. More information can be found on the group’s website at SD Awards .

DA-RC OC Countries Award

The OC Countries Award by the Dx Adventure Radio Club (DA-RC) provides arguably the biggest challenge for Freeband and 27 MHz DXers of all OC awards on offer with no less than 30 OC DXCC required to fulfil the award’s criteria.

Designed by DA-RC World HQ member 14DA911 Eric, who also heads the Club’s Achievement Program, this award is a full colour glossy certificate which is free to DA-RC members and also available to non-members at a cost of 7 Euro.

To ensure the integrity of the Club’s Achievement Program, photocopies of all QSL cards (front and back) must accompany the application so as to verify all contacts. OC Countries Award guidelines and a complete list of other DA-RC awards on offer are available on the DA-RC website.

OD OC Countries Award

To claim this excellent award for the radio shack wall, you must have worked and confirmed a minimum of 10 different Oceanic divisions. Designed by creative German genius 161/13OD001 Dario, this award is available to members only.

A complete list of other Oscar Delta awards on offer are available on the group’s website at http://www.oscardelta.org
