Has Your OM Ever Accompanied You on a DXpedition?
The most recent poll was, "Has Your YL Ever Accompanied You on a Dxpedition?" What planet are you guys on? I pose the alternative question, "Has your OM (Old Man) ever accompanied you on a DXpedition?"
15 years ago I mounted 10-11m DXpedition to Cocos (Keeling) Island and to Christmas Island. Both Islands are in the Indian Ocean and are administered by the Western Australian Government.
A year later I ran a DXpedition from Rottnest Island, offshore from Perth. I am now 75 years old but am thinking of another from Broome and maybe Melville Island.
How did I get there? By flying my own airplane of course! I quit flying 10 years ago after more than 40 years of flying activity.
On another topic, I cannot comprehend the switch from 27MHz to UHF CB since the latter is so inferior in range. I have owned several UHF CBs only to get rid of them. However the blessing is that the foul mouthed and verbal abusers have migrated away from 27MHz to UHF!
