The world’s most active source of Freeband DX information, ‘11m DX Activities Oz’, reported a short while back that popular European based DXer 104GT011 Roy bagged first place in the thrilling 2007 Golf Tango Rugby World Cup Challenge. We are now happy to announce that our mate Roy (Pictured above) received his promised prizes from Golf Tango Headquarters just a few days ago — a brilliant colour certificate and a spectacular gold trophy standing at almost one metre tall!
To refresh your memory, keen contester 104GT011 Roy won the popular sporting SES event using roughly 70 watts from the transceiver through a simple but highly effective homebrew Corsican Spider beam so obviously it was an honour well and truly deserved.
Certain to take pride of place on the radio shack shelf, this fantastic award is thought to be one of the finest on offer in the 11m DX Community. Congratulations should also go, therefore, to organisers of the event, the Golf Tango DX Group, for their diligence in sending the awards and also for staging such an excellent Freeband DX experience.
